After days of speculation, a volcano in Iceland has started erupting. The Fagradalsfjall volcano is located on the Reykjanes Peninsula, just south of the country’s capital and largest city of Reykjavik.
Local media reports say this is the third year in a row this volcano has erupted.
Besides being a popular tourist destination, Iceland is a well-known hub for travelers between the U.S. and Europe. Last year’s eruption did not impact any flights, and it remains to be seen if the same will be true for this eruption.
