Surf parks continue to gain popularity, with more wave pools opening each month around the world. Now, one park is taking the latest wave technology and bringing a dose of the natural world back with solar power.

The Wave in Bristol, U.K., is working on going carbon neutral and recently started running their wave-making machine on solar energy.

The company celebrated the announcement on social media. They say their staff were the first to ride the clean-energy waves.

The Wave announced late last year their plans for carbon neutrality, and this is their latest step in demonstrating the impact a company can make when they make and stick to their environmental goals.
