The International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Man- tova will be hosted in the Diocesan Museum Francesco Gonzaga. The museum preserves works from the Duomo, the Basilica Palatina of Santa Barbara, the dio- cesan territory and numerous private collections. In it, are kept works by andrea Mantegna, Correggio, Do- menico Fetti, Francesco Cairo. In its rooms you can see precious objects of the treasure of the cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle and of the Basilica Palatina of Santa Barbara in addition to a large number of tape- stries, ceramics and armor. Numerous works arrived from the parishes of the Diocese, which remain the owner, are often used for solemn liturgies. The idea of dedicating part of the Sant'Agnese monastery of the Au- gustinian Fathers to the exhibition was born thanks to the interest of Monsignor Luigi Bosio in the Seventies and to the commitment of Monsignor Ciro Ferrari in the following decade.
